Common School Fund? What's that?

I'm excited to announce that the common school fund (estimated) amounts for this year have been released by DPI!

What is the common school fund you ask. Well it is a fund set up by Wisconsin's constitution that supports and maintains the states public schools and  “the purchase of suitable libraries and apparatus therefor.” The fund is maintained by the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands and funding fluctuates from year to year based on it's management and number of students a district has.

This year St Croix Central is receiving $52,944! Woot!!! These funds will be used to purchase books, videos, audiobooks, ebooks, online databases, magazines, and newspapers, possibly some computer devices in each library.
