Book Donations

Thank you! I can not believe the outpouring of offers I have had to donate books to our temporary elementary library and for classrooms/grades. It is truly amazing.

YES, we are taking book donations for any picture books, chapter books, or elementary non-fiction books. Please drop off donations at the high school in Hammond.

If you want ideas for books we need:
  1. Books that are on my July order (that I was intending on purchasing) -- click here
  2. Look through our Desiny catalog to see what we have/had in our library -- click here
  3. Award winners are always great -- Newbery, Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Pura Belpre, Theodore Geisel, Sibert -- do a web search to find the list for each
UPDATE 5-2-13: To see the top 50 most-checked-out books from the past five months click here. These would also be good to get.

  1. Just a question regarding all of the books that students have checked out from the library and are at home. What would you like done with these?? I'm sure I am not the only parent with this question. Thanks!

    1. I'm currently working on getting a system worked out for checking in and checking out books in our temporary home. Students can bring in their library books to return with Ms. Mueller just like normal. We will have these returned books, plus many donated books for students to check out for the rest of May.

The final due date on all library books is May 29.

  2. Thank you so much for these awesome suggestions, Amanda! There are so many who want to help, and it's nice to have some guidelines to know their donations will be used!

  5. Who is your book ordering company? Can we make a pitch to be your book ordering company? Maybe when things calm down a bit.
